Our Story

Growing up in Mexico, Juan worked at a local taqueria, honing his skills and learning authentic Mexican recipes. Little did he know that this journey would carry him across borders to the heart of the United States. With a stroke of fortune and unwavering courage, Juan, accompanied by his beloved wife, Alejandra, ventured into a new chapter of their lives. Together, they embarked on a daring endeavor, bringing their dream to life by opening a charming portable kitchen.

From Portable Kitchen to Brick & Motar!

With the portable kitchen going from event to event, Juan needed a more permanent location to serve his local community. He enlisted the help of his son Ed and his wife, Michelle, and together in 2017 they opened Tacos La Gringa in Bloomfield NJ!

New Specials & Menu Expansion!

Ed & Michelle brought a fun spin on the menu, expanding to more selections and adding new specials like the birria quesadilla and Mexican street corn! On a busy day you may find Ed in the middle of the rush, bustling back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room, greeting guests while Michelle will be behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly! Both are passionate about serving and connecting with their local community through the love of delicious authentic Mexican food.

Tacos La Gringa is a small family owned and operated business serving authentic mexican food - from pastor, pollo and asada to their gringa tacos! They use fresh ingredients and authentic recipes - tacos made with corn tortillas, cilantro and onions, freshly made salsa, delicious tortas and more!
